At FUNctional Aquatics, David is a firm believer in the client-centered approach. He holds the belief that each person's unique goals and needs should be the driving force behind the therapy process. By working closely with clients and their families, he aims to create personalized treatment plans that respect and prioritize individual strengths and potential.
My Story
David Michalski, an Albuquerque native, began his career in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. He accumulated 10 years of experience working at a local medical software company. Coming from a business background and having worked in the field for a decade, David learned that a career is a commitment that requires passion, a positive attitude, and ongoing growth. During his time in the business world, he realized that these factors would eventually lead him to change his occupation and pursue a career in Occupational Therapy (OT). This new path allows him to pursue something he loves by helping people, enhancing the lives of individuals facing diverse challenges, aligning with his personality and personal strengths, and providing an outlet for community involvement.
David's goal at FUNctional Aquatics is to empower individuals of all ages and abilities to live their lives to the fullest. With a strong commitment to promoting independence, confidence, and overall well-being, he specializes in working with clients with a wide array of diagnoses and conditions, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Fine and Gross Motor Delays, Genetic Disorders, and Intellectual Disabilities.
